There are so many reasons why I like Evangeline with John but I know one thing is that I want to see them end up together.
I watched the show, and watched it when they were both not with each other. I've watched since they broke up and still I do not think that there is anyone better for them. The characters compliment each other but also as actors Michael and Renee work so well together. Besides chemistry I always feel like they have each other's back in a scene and that they believe in their characters. To see this not play out would be sad.
I want them to talk to each other and work through their problems. I don't want to see them in relationships with anyone else because for me it makes them not so mature and it is like they are settling which their characters would not do.

Lately the writer has not done a good job for either. IMO John's character is suffering but so is Evangeline. I would like to see the writer return to who they are, how they would really behave and to have them work things out.

I love Michael Easton and Renee Goldsberry and I want the chance to really see them at their best. They are at their best when they are with each other.

I miss seeing Renee and Michael together on my screen true to their characters as in 2004. I know that in time people do grow and evolve but their intrinsic self remains the same. I miss John and Evangeline, I miss them terribly, I miss everything that a John and Evangeline moment brings onscreen. I am upset at the way the writers seem to have changed their charcaters. I miss the big things and the small things about John and Evangeline.
I miss the way they look at each other, their every feelings for each other shining from their eyes and their faces. I miss the way they touch each other. I miss the way they love each other. I miss the way they hold each other in the highest regards, the way they respect each other, the way they honor each other and the way they support each other. I miss the way they have each other's backs. Mostly though I miss the way they talk to each other.
I miss the Evangeline who was confident in the way she felt about John and John felt about her whether he said those three little words or not. I miss the mature, smart lawyer who recognized that 'John was it' for her from the beginning and worked hard at building a relationship. I miss the confidence she had that made her end one relationship and leaped into another headfirst. Yes, she was cautious but she was sure about what she wanted. I miss the Evangeline that was dedicated to her clients, who worked hard for them at all hours, all day, everyday without break until she solved their problems. I miss the Evangeline who was protective of John, who did not allow anyone to say anything negative about him and their relationship. I miss the Evangeline who remembered her friends and knew that no matter what, John is her friend. I miss my confident, loving, sweet, strong, vulnerable, lawyer and woman who was willing to work on her issues in a deeply committed relationship with her cop boyfriend! Just where did she go?

man who entered this relationship cautiously but worked hard for it. I miss the man who is willing to try love again knowing that he could get hurt. I love the dedicate cop who strive for right to beat out wrong at all times, I love the cop who never stops until he got his man, I love the cop who is relentless until his case is solved. I miss the man who loved and needed Evangeline and told her so every chance he got. I miss the man who talked to his brother, who is working on improving his relationship with his brother, I love the man who shared beers with his brother and drank his beer while his ladylove had her dry martini. I miss the confident, calm, easy-going, temperamental, edgy, vulnerable, kind, protective, loving and strong man. I miss his brooding silences and brooding dark looks. I miss the way he loves Evangeline.
Mostly though, I miss the way they talked to each other, worked out their problems together and worked hard for their relationship.This is why I cannot understand much less let tptb deny me my couple without a fight!

I did not watch OLTL, until they brought part of AMC into Lanview with Lil Adam and I started watching because of that s/l. Then I saw Evangeline and low and beholds, I got hooked when they pared Evangeline and John and that's what kept me. However, I have been very disappointed in how they let Nat's character treat Evangeline character without Evangline being able to defends herself. I feel that they don't value her fans and if I don't see her in a s/l of her own where she is being sought out and a love interest, then I will turn to CBS where they use all their actors, it's as if ABC is saying they don't want REG loyal fans for their show. I can easily accommodate them. The Todd s/l is really good, but chris and john lusting after Nat, just doesn't hold my attention, MA needs to take more classes to horn her skills, her lack luster acting skills are too noticeable when she is acting with Bree, REG, Michael Eastern and some of the older crew, she is just not up to their par. Give us back JoVAn with John persuing Evangeline:P

The real shame of it all is that One Life has something for everybody. They have Asa & Renee and Vicky & Clint, Dorian & David, Rex & Adriana (I find them boring but there must be somebody who likes them), Bo & Nora who should be back together already, Antonio & Jessica, Todd & Blair, John & Van, Chris & Natalie. If they got a teenage boy for Star, they would have them too. This show could have the biggest audience there is if they did it right instead of pushing John & Van and Chris & Natalie together and wasting John & Van and turning people off.

They should just do the John & Van story and give everybody else the stories they want.

The reason I started watching OLTL 10 months ago was because of the relationship between John Mcbain and Evangeline Williamson. Renee Elise Goldsberry and Michael Easton have a chemistry like no on slse on daytime television. They both seem so natural and comfortable around each other. John is always so tender with Evangeline whether he's touching her hair or doing their trademark forehead touch thest two make me believe that they are in love. Even though they haven't been a couple in quite some time I still have faith they will will find their way back to each other.

I know John has his demons to deal with, which I'm hoping will be address sometime soon, but once he's a complete man I do believe he will be the man that Van deserves and needs.

I hope this upcoming storyline will be the starting point for these two to realize how much they still love and need each other.

John is the man for Evangeline. They are so much alike and are so in tune with each other. They are both law enforcement professionals, able to understand that doing one's job may often be at odds with doing what's in one's heart. They're both workaholics who are not jealous of time spent doing that job - so much so that they're content just being together when doing their respective and separate jobs. They have fun together. They have passion for each other. They respect and like each other. They're protective of each other. They've got each other's back. They make each other better and stronger. Cherise, a member of the message board I belong to, used the phrase that Evangeline "wholes" John's heart and I'd say that the other way around is true as well.

I think that Evangeline shines brightest when she's with John and that he shines brightest when he's with her – period. I’d feel cheated if tptb tried to pass off anything else. John and Evangeline are the story I got hooked on and that’s the only story that will satisfy me.

Shows like today (3/14/06) make me want/crave/miss/demand that they reunite John and Evangeline. Michael Easton and Renee Elise Goldsberry brought the heat today. The close up on John hands rubbing her wrist was too much, the heated stare between them I felt like I was intruding on a very private moment. ME and REG make John/Van seem like a real couple. It pained him to see her in cuffs. I love how he's still VERY protective of her. I'm just mad Van was the one who pulled away. I wish that just once she would fall into his arms and tell him "She needs him". I just can't see how TPTB can ignore the passion, fire, love between these two. I know in my heart they will end up together, but man it is a long journey. I can't wait for the big payoff.

In the last couple of days, we were made to recall why the pairing of John McBain and Evangeline Williamson is not some far-fetched, short-lived idea. This is a pairing with longevity and with so much story to tell. It is a pity tptb at OLTL seems to be stalling at every chance they get to further this story and pairing. It is almost as if they are scared to think outside the normal proverbial box! This is a pairing that can elevate the normal soap opera romance. Here is the mature romance of two adult characters that bring a lot of realistic baggage to their growing relationship. This does not exist on most other soaps! This is about more than chemistry and the natural realism the actors bring to the characters and the story, this is about finding two actors who elevate the scenes you write for them from cheesy words on a paper to believable moments on screen. This is about actors who transport the audience from the mundane into a fantasy life making them wish for the same thing they are witnessing onscreen to be in their lives. This is about actors who make it look easy and real who are likeable and make you root for them, who do such a good job that you the audience forget they are fictional and you become consumed by thoughts of what will happen to the charcaters and how they will come out of any situation on top! This is what they have done to me and for me.
This is what Renee and Michael have done for OLTL and for us. They have given us the best entertainment OLTL has seen in years! They make you root for them and write letters and call the commentline in your support of them. They make you plan your life around the hour you sit down to watch them deliver their craft. They make you appreciate how hard they work with sometimes the little they are given just to make you sigh! Again, this is what they have done to me and for me.
John and Evangeline are the couple of yesterday, today and tomorrow. I want OLTL to realize that and to tell their story. I want OLTL

I haven't watched soaps in years and really didn't think I would again after tuning them out for so long. Yet when I came across OLTL's Aug 4/5, 2004 episodes, I stayed. Renee and Michael is not a forgetable dou. They make you sit on the edge of your seat and want to watch them for hours. They make you watch in real time, record it, and them watch again on sopanet. They have you surfing the web so you can get with other Jovan fans and talk about what this couple has done that was so special. They bring something to the daytime soap that hasn't been done before -a couple that is built on love, respect, loyalty, truth, and realism. Name another soap that has a couple like them - no one can because there isn't one. John and Van is what is missing and if they are not given the chance, a real chance to tell their story, why the hell did TPTB put them together and make us fall in love with them?

Well TPTB needs to wake up and give the fans what we and that's JOVAN!!!! I won't settle for less and personally, I think a lot more fans agree with me. So be smart and reunite the only couple that brought real love back to daytime.

I have to agree with all of the previous postings. There is no couple on daytime or nighttime for that matter that has more chemistry or is as attractive as John and Evangeline. These two have actually made me watch and record a soap for the first time in years. I used to watch and tape years ago but the s/l and the same old couples turned me off and I stopped. But then along came JOVAN! Boy was I hooked. Not only did they look good together, but they both really seemed to really be into their scenes together. They really compliment each other and no other soap couple has captured my attentioned like they have. It's a real shame that tptb have torn this golden couple apart but I believe taht they will eventually end up back together because anything else just would not make sense. John was stuck in the past and not looking for anything permanant. Evangeline was a workaholic who was too serious at times. But when these two came together, they gave each other something that was missing from both of their lives and that was the ability to lean on and trust someone other than themselves. It has been awesome seeing this friendshop develop into such a passionate supercouple. No other soap has a couple with this much chemistry, passion, or fire. They both continue to be passionate about their careers, hers as an attorney, and his as a detective. Sometimes they clash but in the end they always come to the conclusion that they won't let their jobs keep them apart. I miss this couple and hope that tptb will recognize that putting them with others will not work for any extended period of time because we've all seen JOVAN together and know that no one else will do for either John or Evangeline. They are magical, they are awesome and they are simply beautiful together. The past few weeks have shown us that the chemistry and the passion for each other is still there, now we want to see some movement toward a reconciliation and soon because we as fans have waited a long time for

a payoff of our favorite couple. Tptb have already tried with someone else and obviously it did not work. That should tell them something. We don't want to see anyone else, we want to see John and Evangeline back together soon. Let them have a chance to be together without the intrusion of a third or fourth party. There is enough rich s/l material in their relationship by itself and it doesn't need to be part of triangle. They did that for the past two years and it's old and tired now. Now it's JOVAN's turn and I for one can't wait to see it played out because with Michael Easton and Renee Elise Goldsberry playing with each other again, you just know that it's going to good.

There is no continuity on OLTL these days - none at all. Each day is almost completely separate from the day before and will prove to be separate from the day that follows. Characters begin conversations on one day that are just dropped, along with all of the associated details. The so-called writing forgets dialogue written just the day before - sometimes earlier in a scene that’s being continued across episodes (writers for the same show really should talk to each other every now and then – just to get a general idea of what’s been happening).

So here's what's bothering me lately:



1. Remember when John was in the hospital and said something like 'what if Todd is innocent' to both Evangeline and his shadow, Natalie? So how come Evangeline doesn't think that anyone else believes that Todd may not be guilty?

2. Remember when Evangeline was in jail for those two or three minutes? Remember that she asked John if he believed that Todd might be innocent? Remember the next day - how we never heard his response because the scene ended with that question, never to be re-visited? Further how come Cristian was allowed to visit Evangeline in jail but her sister wasn’t? How come Cristian the former inmate was allowed to sit in middle of the LPD squad room, able to overhear confidential details concerning the LPD?

3. So how come Evangeline just left the police station when she was released from custody without at least popping her head into John’s office to thank him for everything he did for her, including putting the rest of his career on the line by trying to warn her that the LPD was on its way to where she and Todd were hiding?

4. How come John didn’t seem to react to the fact that Evangeline had been released from custody? In fact, how come he was upset about it one day and seemed to have completely forgotten about it the next? How come he was so determined to solve the riddle of the Manning case one minute but then drop

dropped it without a backward glance when he decided to re-open his father’s case?
5. How come John can be in his office, having a session with Dr. Crosby and Natalie can just walk in and interrupt whenever she chooses?
6. How come the “always classy” Natalie can write an expletive on the police psychologist Crosby’s chart in response to a question and continue her loose employment arrangement with the LPD?
7. How come rather than exhausting every legal means at her disposal to free her client or at the very least keep him from being executed, Evangeline Williamson, Attorney-at-Law, can be found these days running all over the country behaving like Matlock on amphetamines, helping her client evade capture by the LPD and fooling absolutely no one in the process because she’s so really, really bad at it?
8. How come the likes of Hugh Hughes and Bo Buchanan are suspicious enough of Evangeline’s actions that a copy has been assigned to follow her around town, yet neither that cop nor anyone else seems to know where she goes, what she does, or who it is she’s with from minute to minute? Heck, she was up near the cabin last week - with Llanview’s “finest” crawling all over the place (led by the “finest” of them all, Commissioner Bo Buchanan) - but, inept so-called sleuth that she clearly is, Evangeline was still able to elude them all, hooking up with Todd right under their noses, and making a clean getaway afterward. Sure, the officer assigned to follow her lost her at the Palace that day but couldn’t he have picked up her trail again later – especially after she went back home to her apartment and, presumably, he knows where she lives?
9. Why no sooner than Evangeline is released from custody – still under suspicion for aiding and abetting an escaped felon – does she accept a call on her cell phone from that same escaped felon – WHILE STILL INSIDE THE POLICE STATION, no less? Is that more than a little brainless or is it ju

10. If Hugh Hughes was suspicious enough of Evangeline to have her arrested and held for 24 hours, how come he didn’t confiscate her cell phone when she was taken into custody and trace two of the calls to John, who tried to warn her off?
11. How come we all watched John execute the junkie holding Michael McB hostage but LPD’s Internal Affairs division decided that the shooting was done “by the book”? How they took John’s badge away when it was so easy for him to get it back?
12. Bo knows that Paige is hiding something about the Manning case but won’t even try to find out what that is no matter how many different lies he catches her in but does. Guess he doesn’t have time but he has time to promote his niece to Forensics Technician just because she’s his niece and doesn’t have anything else to do but follow John around town
13. Dr. Crosby told John that Natalie is detrimental to him doing his job. How come he never told Bo?
14. If Denton is following Evangeline at Spencer's direction, how is she now following him?
15. What is up with Duke trying to go to bed with his father’s woman? Yuck.
16. Why doesn’t Blair see anything suspicious about Spencer defending Todd before he slept with her and then telling her to forget about him after?
17. Where is Nora?
18. How come Natalie never does a day’s work yet still has a job?
19. Why should anybody at the LPD obey orders from John McBain when he can’t even control the department receptionist?

I think that the One Life writers should be forced to sit down and watch the crap they write and suffer with the rest of us. Then maybe they’ll see how they’re killing all our favorites.

So many inconsistencies, so little time to list them all.

The ONE bright spot is the connection that STILL exists between John and Evangeline. That's what I hold onto and, along with Michael Easton and Renee Goldsberry, that's what keeps me watching.

OLTL is like a yo-yo, it moves up and then way down with at times little contol from the person manipulating the yo-yo. This is Dena Higley, she came, she saw, she did not understand so she recreated. However in attempting to recreate what was not broken, she has destroyed every part of history the show had, every character and every ounce of romance, wait a second, you can't have romance without couples! But then again, she has destroyed all the couples too! I am not a big fan of OLTL but I AM HUGE fan of John and Evangeline. I miss this couple the most and really want them back together ASAP. I have to ask what is the hold up? Is it because the chemistry between Michael Easton and Renee Goldsberry scare her? Is it because she really can't write? Is it because she can write but lacks imagination, heart, creativity and vision? Or is it that she really can't see what we see when Michael and Renee are on our screens? I have no idea but I do know this is senseless!
John and Evangeline can tell any story thrown at them whether well-written or just thrown together without thought. Look at Renee in the last couple of weeks where she is thrown in a situation she should never be in. She gave us her best. Michael has been giving us his best since last June when Higley attempted to slice and dice him beyond recognition.
There are many pairings on OLTL that work and work well, there are Kevin and Kelly, Todd and Blair, Michael and Marcie, David and Dorian, and of course, there is John and Evangeline. They are the best and most realistic of all couples on this show as their lives onscreen depict the struggles of real life as we live it. There are careers, differences of opinions, families, insecurities, emotions and compromise. There is a daily growth to make the relationship work, there are ups and downs. John and Evangeline ahs all these factors and Renee and Michael deliver them and their responses to them to us beautifully!

The General State of OLTL is a mess right now but I will keep my comments here about Evangeline and John. Two adult characters played by two of the best actors in daytime. Any show would be crazy to not showcase them, so why isn't the Head Writer doing it? If this were any other soap Y&R, any other soap I bet we'd see the story written that we all want to see as fans of this supercouple.

They were broken up a year ago and have been used over the last year to keep the audience hanging on, not to mention to push other couples and characters agendas on this show.

Their characters have been rewritten , their history rewritten, changing dynamics and in each case almost ruining what I liked about each of them separately. Thank goodness for the wonderful acting of Renee and Michael because they have kept it honest although the writer wants us to forget.

OLTL has a lot to lose and each day that Evangeline and John are not together and Renee and Michael are kept apart in big storylines that should involve each other, is one more day that they blow the opportunity of writing one of the best love stories ever.

I will ask the question again, what possible reason can The Powers That Be have in not writing and presenting this story, a story that is special, and has everything you'd want for a soap Super Couple?
